Waiter was rude

I was paying for my food and when it came to the tip all I could afford to give him was five dollars and he confronted me that that's all I had to give him. And he messed the order up bringing out the wrong salad that was ordered.

Charged for a sent back meal

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Texas Roadhouse - Charged for a sent back meal
Texas Roadhouse - Charged for a sent back meal - Image 2

The quick version of our Texas Roadhouse experience:

We were forced to pay for an overcooked steak we didn't want, and our server hid from us for probably 15-30 mins to secretly get it remade so we could have to pay (after telling her and TWO other managers that we just wanted it taken off the bill)our server also refused to bring a soda refill after we asked 4 times, wouldn't give us our bill, or boxes... she was literally hiding from us to try to force us to pay for a re-make of a meal that came out wrong that we TOLD HER multiple times we didn't want to wait for.

My boyfriend was literally in the bathroom puking after eating the small amount of chili and a few bites of his chicken fried steak so I told her this and I said don't bother remaking it, my boyfriend is so sick after eating your food can you please just take it off and give me my bill

Then she dissapeared...

Ok so let's start from the top.

We come into the restaurant and immediately get treated differently and rushed because we asked if we could use a "dinner for two for $30" voucher that I won at an employee party while working at Dave and busters. Our server was a blonde lady mid age. It was almost like as soon as she saw we had a coupon she wanted to rush us, and overfeed us, so she could still make money. We told her ATLEAST 8 times "hey, don't worry we will still tip atleast 20 percent of the total BEFORE the coupon value is taken off" we tried to assure her we were good tippers but we were still treated as if we were freeloaders because we asked if we could use a meal voucher...

just absolutely rude and disrespectful.

She continued to bug us every minute or two and try to order for us. She said things like "ok so I'll put in a beer and a margarita for you guys right?"

Uhhhh... no? Why would we want a beer and a margarita?

Who said I like margaritas, or that I even drink? Ohhhh Because I'm a woman I must want a margarita? My boyfriend MUST need a beer because he is a man? NO, that isn't ok.

Why would you assume that and keep pushing to send it through for us... it wasn't a suggestion it was her basically telling us that was what she was going to order for our table. She tried that about three times. Then she told us she's gonna order us a blooming cactus onion thingy?!?!

Again like, NO!!! We don't want a blooming onion, we never said we did, why are you trying to force us to eat it?

We assured her that NO we do not want any of those things, just a soda and time to read over the menu.

She continued to come bug us every minute or so when we continued to tell her we were still looking at the menu. We felt VERY rushed and we got additude when we did end up ordering

So let's fast forward. We order the 6oz sirloin (med/rare to rare) with shrimp and the two sides I picked were corn and a baked potato.

My boyfriend orders country fried chicken with chili and mashed potato.

Sooooo... Chili comes out, by itself...

just chili.

Ok no big deal

We wait and wait, it's fine, but we start to notice she is no where to be found for soda refills or napkins or anything

Then our food comes out and my steak is well done... like VERY well done. The corn is in a bowl FULL of room temp water.

My boyfriend starts eating his country fried chicken and immediately gets sick and has to go to the bathroom to puke.

I knew my meal wasn't up to par so I stopped eating it. The ONLY thing I ate was the 4 shrimps that came as an add on, I ate them before I cut into the steak and saw how overcooked it was.

When our server comes back I told her the issue and asked her if she could please take my meal off and that I would be happy to pay for the shrimp add on since I did indeed eat those couple shrimp, and that we will pay for my boyfriends whole chicken fried steak meal even though it made him sick.

I told her my boyfriend is sick in the bathroom after eating your food so don't bother taking the time to remake the steak, just please take it off my bill and we will pay for his whole meal and the couple shrimp I ate

She didn't remove my plates she just basically walked away. 10 mins later my boyfriend is back after puking up this food and they send over a manager (I think)

She was a lady w/ brown hair

I tell her what happened, and that I did not want it remade, I said we needed boxes and to go and I showed her how much water was in the corn dish (by literally pouring it out on the plate)

We very clearly were ready to go but we were still being very polite. But also mentioned how we'd been waiting so long for a soda refill and we were ready for our check...

she took my food back and never returned. We still had not seen our server I am almost certain she was hiding in the back.

So after another 10-15 mins I get frustrated. I walk up to some random workers and say can I please get my boxes and the check?!?!

A few minutes later ANOTHER manager walks up (this time is a man I believe he had brown hair)

He said he overheard me complaining to the random worker when asking for boxes so he asked what happened, I told him the details, he disappears. Maybe 7 or 8 mins later he shows up with a steak in a to go container with a nasty wet potato wrapped in foil and a little container of bacon...

why?!? Why would I want this? Why did you disappear on me then bring me something I didn't want?

I didn't get any of the other toppings for the loaded mashed potato that I asked for (that came with the first botched meal) and I DID NOT WANT the meal at all that was improperly cooked!!! Why did no one listen?

He has me cut the steak to make sure it's med/rare to rare and it was.

I said thank you and was polite because I have always been taught to be kind to service workers but I mentioned that I wanted it sent back. This whole thing was just unacceptable.

So I gave up and just handed him the voucher and asked how much I owed and he said it would pop up on the little screen on the table. I assumed he had comped the meal... the meal I didn't want

NOPE

They charged full price for the meal I sent back and told THREE SEPERATE PEOPLE that I didn't want.

They knew my boyfriend was sick from their food, they knew I was trying to get him home because he was literally puking in the bathroom... but instead of just taking it off the bill the server literally HID FROM US so she could still add it to the bill and get a good tip. Such greedy and disrespectful behavior. We had to ask 4 times from multiple people to even get a soda refill and I had to literally get out of my seat to ask people where my server was and to get boxes and a check because she was hiding from us.

Now, I have worked in the service industry so we still tipped her very well.

We gave her $17 tip on a $15 bill (the bill would have been $45 before voucher)

so we ended up paying $62 total with the voucher for a meal that should have been about twenty bucks... we made sure to tip over 40 percent which is quite generous, especially after being treated this way. We remained polite and generous the entire time because I didn't want to cause a scene publicly

But after talking to my boyfriend I just cannot let this go. We were treated terribly after being very kind and generous guests.

I need to talk to someone in management (preferably not management in Alaska)

I would prefer to speak with the highest ranking manager available to go over these issues. I will also be posting reviews on yelp, Facebook, and google of the exact details of our visit but I will wait until I have heard back before I do so.

This is not ok to treat paying customers like this...

By the way this was at the location in anchorage Alaska on 9001 old Seward highway

Rudeness

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Texas Roadhouse - Rudeness

My fiance and I visited the Avon Indiana location yesterday. We were celebrating our engagement and the birth of our niece.

I checked us in on the mobile app and when we got there we were told we had to wait to be seated until our whole party arrived. Cool not an issue. We went to the bar to get a drink while we waited. Still not a bad thing.

We went back out to the "waiting area" where we sat on a bench and waited. About 5 minutes later the "manager " told us we couldn't wait inside but we needed to wait in our car or in the "corral." She wasn't even the slightest bit nice. My fiancé made the comment that she was making us feel like we were not welcomed there. She proceeded to roll her eyes and told us to wait in our car.

Rude. My brother in law dropped off the baby and his wife and went to park. Still wasn't allowed to wait inside. He had to park in the shopping area so it took him about 10 minutes to get in.

Meanwhile we're waiting on the dam cold with a 2 week old. Ruthless as *** We walk up to get seated and we're told to wait on the exact spot we were kicked out from. A little girl (not sure of her name) called us to be seated. I told her to wait a second as we had to get the baby and diaper bag.

She looked me right and the face and called my name even louder. At this point I'm beyond pissed and she signs like showing us to our table is some big inconvenience to her.

We normally visit TRH about one every other week here in our hometown. Never had any real issues. But the location at Avon...

I've gotten better service on bar night at the Waffle House.

The "manager" and everyone in the front end was rude as *** Who makes people wait in the freaking cold with a newborn?! The whole staff up front should be ashamed.

Nothing says welcome to the world newborn more than a bunch of stupid adults out on a cold day with a two-week old waiting for a table.

Carle Vux

How old are you six? Because most adults do not mistake being told something they do not want to hear as rude.

There are laws against child labor so I doubt that you were called by a "little girl" referring to her as "little girl" is what is rude, especially when you are the one acting like a child. The only rude person was YOU and your fiance.

I'm so sorry, I must not have seen you there when we were. I mean how else would you know if I was rude or not?

Thank you so much your opinion.... I'll consider your thoughts.

Even so.... the location and staff were awful.

Once again a childish reply from a little girl. Just calling her a little girl is rude enough.

If you were not STUPID and could read English you would have known that I meant that.

You must be six. Do your parents know that you are posting this?

Trouble service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Texas Roadhouse - Trouble service

On December the 18th at approximately 7:31 PM. We, my family.

A party of about 12 went to Texas Roadhouse on Concord. Leo boulevard, we were seated, we waited for over an hour. We never got any bread. We never got any utensil we never got anything.

We, I had to personally go and get utensil for us. They did not have any real utility for us to cut any type of steak with they gave us paper utensils. That's the first thing once we place out order. The waitress Jasmine did take out orders at 8:41 PM.

She did get us drinks at around about 8:51 however, she didn't give us any bread. However the table behind us that came in afterwards got bread. When we found we finally got our food was cold. The steak was cold.

The reels were burned to a black crisp on the bottom.

I ordered the size of mushrooms and onion.

Sweet potato did not get any Onion. This was the absolute worse experience i've ever had at any restaurant. This was a very poor representation of management. The manager caleb refuse to Compensate us for any inconvenience.

We waited over 2 hours to be served. Cold burnt food and to be expected to pay for this food. Then we had the assistant manager by the name of Yuri who was very rude. And mean and hateful.

And she does not need to be a manager over.

I ant more size people. Is Caleb Singh very unconcerned about our experience and was trying to make no kind of effort to correct this issue at all.

And decided to call the police department For what reason I do not know? Because we were not a disquano party. We were celebrating my niece 40th birthday party.

And we behaved ourselves in a Very eliberate's quiet demeanor. This experience was very horrible and I would not dare recommend this restaurant to anyone to anyone. There's not a scale that I could even judge the type of service that we my family received. We did not deserve this type of treatment.

You know I was rewarded this type of treatment. If this is the way that Texas Roadhouse represents the dare service. I will never if it cost my life. I will never come back to this establishment.

Ever again? And if for anyone that I meet, I will do I will absolutely tell them never to come. This was the worst customer service that I've ever received and it was not warranted. Something musomething must be done even if I have to go to the news.

Even if I have to write an article in the paper. Even if I have to get on social media to let everyone know. No, do not paint your eyes. What Texas Roadhouse because of the horrible service that they display if you can.

It served the people shut the door if you cannot accommodate the people. Shut the door if you don't have enough biscuits that you know the reason why people come to Texas Roadhouse. They Teck down your side. This is acceptable and you all do not need to be invested.

If the mister gerard stand behind this type of service for the sake of money. Go Go somewhere else, where they value people and hand great customer care

There’s a lot left out of this story. Something tells me all 12 people were not seated at 7:30 and a few were late. They would not wait an hour and 10 minutes to wait on you unless your whole party wasn’t there.

Extremely poor service and food

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Texas Roadhouse - Extremely poor service and food

I went to dinner with family and friends for my birthday last night. Until last night this was my favorite steakhouse.

However, last night the service was unbelievably bad and slow. Additionally, the food was not up to the standard expected. After placing our orders it took at least 1/2 hour just for the server "Brook" to return with the drinks; just lemonade nothing fancy. She brought the drinks and then disappeared for 20mins.

She returned to take our food orders and coughed into the back of her hand more than once while taking our order. After coughing on her hand and all over our drinks, she went over to the monitor placed our order, touched a coworker on the shoulder then took her next table order never once stopping to wash her hands or even use sanitizer on them. I know this because she was in clear view. I asked to see the manager and informed them of her unsanitary actions and requested another server.

We were made fresh drinks which I watched the manager walk around with in her hands while taking her time talking to her staff. She (the manager) did have someone clean the monitors and counters they were sitting on. She finally brought the drinks to us. A new server came to the table and inquired if we needed anything.

When our salad eventually arrived 2 of the 3 salads were incorrect. We made excuses for them deciding that they were just too busy to bother with asking them to exchange it for what we ordered so we just kept it. There were three meals ordered 2 steaks and 1 fish but when the entrées arrived one of the steaks was as tough as shoe leather and too dry to even cut. The steak looked so bad that even the server suggested that my friend send it back which she did, and It took so long for them to bring her another steak that I insisted she have part of my fish.

She had waited so long that the server came back twice and told her she was going to check on it. In the meantime, the other steak eater had requested A1 sauce three times before she finally got it, and by the time she did get it her food was cold.

We were almost finished eating when that steak came. She got it to go and never had the chance to enjoy her food with us which we didn't really enjoy because everything was SO SLOW. When we asked for the check and to-go containers we got the containers in only 15 mins.

After waiting an additional 20mins again I requested the manager. By this time she was irritable and rude when I told her that the service was not acceptable. She just said "What's the problem" with an attitude! I explained that we were ready to go and had already requested the check over 20 mins earlier.

She then and only then mentioned that it could have been paid through the system on the table using a credit/debit card. Please explain why we were not told to use that method when we requested the check the first time.

Finally, we were given a paper check. This was the absolute worst time I have had at Texas Roadhouse and I ate here often- no less than once a month. In fact, I got steak last week to go.

However, last night I celebrated my 72nd birthday here at Texas Roadhouse as I did my last three birthdays because it was my favorite.

I intended to treat my four co-workers to steak dinner on Friday for a Christmas get-together mainly because one of them has never been there before and we have talked about how good it is. My perception has changed after my lousy birthday dinner there last night. Now I can't imagine wanting to order 4 dinners to go. I have gotten decent steak as well as mediocre steak from takeout there before I don't want mediocre x4.

Now I have to rethink where I will be getting their Christmas dinner.

The expectations are high and my recent experience shattered what I now expect from there.

Last night's shabby service completely robbed me of the perfect celebration ending. I had to fake being happy as they sang their version of a birthday song.

This is just a giant wall of text, which makes reading it very difficult. Use paragraphs.

Why would you let one bad experience spoil going to your "favorite restaurant?

Also, it is annoying for other diners to have their conversations interrupted with an adult being sung Happy Birthday to. Save that for the 10 and under crowd.

Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Texas Roadhouse - Poor Service

Very unpleasant Service executed by Roxana. Her greeting was not welcoming at all, her attitude showed that she didn't want to be there...No drinks were offered, we then ordered two glasses of water, at the time of taking our dinner order, there were no suggestive selling/upselling...No Appetizer, No onion or mushrooms, No loaded Baked Potato etc..

Her steps of service and her table maintenance were MIA...no bread or water refills were offered...and off course dessert was nowhere to be heard...

I think retraining or a couple of shift follows, would not be a bad idea.

The focus should be Customer Service and steps of Service...to begin with.

We are not coming back to this location..

You are all adult right? If you want drinks ASK, they are not mind readers.

If you want something ASK, If you cannot take a parent or babysitter there with you to speak for you. You want something ASK FOR IT.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. and I agree, If you work in the Hospitality Industry Please and Thank you, is appropriate both ways...

But, what does Please and Thank you has to do with poor service...? with NOT following the steps of service...? with not providing suggestive selling or upselling...? with not offering bread and water refills..?

with the sense of urgency...? with table maintenance...? How can a server judge a customer in 30 seconds....by his looks, by his appearance...? "you never judge the book by it's cover"...

BIG MISTAKE!!!

If you work in the Service Industry, You're Not there to Judge Customers...but to provide Great Service....is what you get paid for, and is the reason why you have to earn your tips, a big part of your salary, which is paid by customers by receiving great customer SERVICE..... and NOT for being judged......it is obvious that you have never worked in he Service industry...

I didn’t say she judged you. It doesn’t sound like she gave two f’s about you at all.

I said she had you figured out in 30 seconds.

You just sound attention seeking and horrible and that has nothing to do with where you live, what you look like or what type of car you drive. Saying she judged you would be making excuses for you.

I waited tables and was a retail manager, so yes I have worked in the service industry. I took on these jobs to help put myself through college. I hope that clears that up for you.

As an adult, I find if I ASK hospitality workers for the things I want, and say please and thank you, I get good to great results.

Food Poisoning

Texas Roadhouse - Food Poisoning

I went on a date there , only for it to end up with me being hospitalized. I ordered a burger (well done) with fries, while my date ordered steak and potatoes.

After eating and traveling home (20 mins), I felt this sharp pain in my side and immediately thought I had to use the restroom, 10-15 mins later the pain increased, I was rushed to the ER. They confirmed that I had food poisoning there. I then called Texas Roadhouse (Memphis, TN) where they stated theres no manager available and hung up. I then reached out to corporate and they are to email me?

I just want my body to go back normal! Im hurting bad.

Disappointing Dining Experience: Delayed Entry, Late Food, and Inadequate Service

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the dining experience my party and I had on January 14th at approximately 6:30 pm.

Upon our arrival, we encountered a substantial crowd, which unfortunately delayed our entry until 7:30 pm. Once seated, our concerns escalated as we faced multiple issues throughout the evening.

The server took our order promptly but unfortunately left immediately thereafter. Our food arrived significantly late, and regrettably, the children in our group received their meals five minutes later than the rest of us.

To compound matters, our salads and appetizers were served simultaneously with the main dishes, rendering them practically inedible. Notably, the shrimp dishes were visibly undercooked, presenting a concerning grey hue, and the meat was served cold. Adding to our disappointment, the server's attitude was far from apologetic.

Instead, she expressed dissatisfaction, stating that such challenges were a daily occurrence and that our concerns were not unique.

When we requested to speak with the manager, her response was that serving the children last and experiencing a 5-minute delay should be considered standard for every customer. She remarked, "5 minutes? Is it truly just a 5-minute delay?"

Despite these substantial issues, the compensation offered was inadequate. We were provided with a voucher for a single appetizer, redeemable only on our next visit, and no apology was extended for the subpar service we experienced.

The lack of accountability for the server's oversight in leaving the children without food further compounded our disappointment.

As a result of these circumstances, we found it necessary to voice our dissatisfaction by withholding a tip.

Our final bill amounted to approximately $220, and we left the establishment disheartened by the lack of acknowledgment and resolution to our concerns.

Being handed a voucher for a single appetizer and receiving no apologies, especially after spending $220 at your establishment, feels like a mockery. Regrettably, we have decided not to revisit.

I will NOT look for other steakhouses! This place has great food for a chain.

I don't have issues when I dine out because I don't let childish, petty things bother me. Nothing you described warranted withholding pay from the server!

What an absolutely horrible person you sound like.

You arrived at the restaurant, dismayed to see others had the same idea. How childish.

They were obviously very busy and everything you ranted about is extremely petty. You withheld a tip because of petty nonsense things outside the server's control. You then had the audacity to withhold a tip from the poor server who had to deal with your entitled, self-important table. Because servers tip the bartenders and host staff based on sales, this unfortunate server had to pay a percentage out of her own pocket.

Yes, that poor server had to PAY to service your table.

You didn't deserve the appetizer coupon. I would have given you nothing!
