We purchased a gift card from a local store for Texas Roadhouse. Gave the card to our friends for a birthday gift.

He went and had dinner and gave the $50 gift card to them, that's when the problem started. They said there was only a balance of $10.94 on the card. They had never used card before. They in turn charged our friends the full price of the dinner quoting that the credit card machine was broke.

After we confronted a arrogant so called asst. manager, with the issue, proof in hand that I paid $50 for card, she excused herself for several minutes, which she also tried to explain that the card reader had issues. After returning she mentioned she had to email corporate apparently only took a couple of minutes. Came back and issued us a receipt from Texas Roadhouse, showing us the $50 was back on the card.

To us it just seemed suspicious the way this turned out.

If that's the way they do business, we don't want no part of it. This happened in N.Chas., SC.
